Raquel De Haro is a lawyer and PhD candidate at the Center for Law & Economics at ETH Zurich (Switzerland). With a background in law, economics and journalism, her research focuses on digital regulation, particularly platform governance, online safety and privacy. Using empirical legal methods, she studies the Digital Services Act (DSA) from a gender-equality perspective, examining online violence, the DSA Transparency Database and how platforms enforce their Terms of Use.

During her PhD, she has been a visiting researcher at Columbia Law School, the University of Amsterdam and the Centre for Protecting Women Online at The Open University (UK), and has consulted on online violence against women for APC and UN Women. She also teaches “Moderating Digital Platforms” at ETH Zurich. Before joining ETH, Raquel worked at the European Commission, the Catalan Competition Authority and the law firm Cuatrecasas.
