Lucas Giovanni Uberti-Bona Marin is a PhD candidate at the Law and Tech Lab, Maastricht University, working in the RegTech4AI project.
His research focuses on legal AI auditing, the assessment of AI systems against legal norms. His work ranges from evidence gathering on product recommendations given by LLMs to analysing how requirements could be implemented in practice, as in his FAccT 2026 paper on the techno-normativity of the accuracy requirement of the EU AI Act. His research aims to bridge gaps between regulation and technology by making measurements grounded in legal norms and operationalising regulations with an understanding of the technology. Lucas has a background in AI and has worked as an AI developer, data scientist, and AI auditor (as part of a PhD secondment).
