Florian Arendt is Associate Professor of Health Communication at the University of Vienna, Austria. His research primarily examines the role of media in the health domain, operating at the intersection of communication and the social sciences on the one hand, and medicine and public health on the other. Given the inherently interdisciplinary nature of health communication research, he primarily employs theories and methodologies from communication science to contribute to these collaborative endeavors.
He is the author of more than 100 scholarly articles, published in leading journals in communication science (e.g., Communication Research, Journal of Communication, Health Communication, Journal of Health Communication) as well as in medicine and public health (e.g., British Medical Journal, Crisis, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Social Science & Medicine).
