ECAT Research Workshop 2026

ECAT is hosting our third annual Research Workshop in Seville on 25 November. with a particular focus on the impact of generative AI. This year's focus is on the impact of generative AI on platform design, experiences and risks.

Conferences and summits

ECAT was established in 2023 to provide technical and scientific expertise for the enforcement of the Digital Services Act (DSA). As part of the Joint Research Centre, the European Commission’s science and knowledge service, it is essential for us to engage with and learn from the research community. We are therefore hosting a workshop on 25 November in Seville, bringing together researchers who can help shed light on the societal impact of online platforms and search engines.

The event will offer a chance for researchers to come together to learn from each other, exchange ideas and consider future collaborations. This year, the focus will be on the impact of generative AI on platform design, experiences and risks.

At the workshop, we will hear from experts through keynotes, panel discussions and poster sessions displaying the work of researchers whose proposals are accepted through our Call for Contributions.
