ECAT keynote at BIAS 2025

ECAT Researcher Erasmo Purificato will deliver a keynote at Bias 2025, part of the 48th International ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval (SIGIR 2025). This will take place in Padua, Italy.

The objectives of the Workshop are to:

• Increase awareness of the algorithmic bias problem in IR.
• Identify dimensions influenced by algorithmic bias in IR.
• Solicit contributions addressing algorithmic bias in IR.
• Gain insights into recent advances and open issues in IR.
• Familiarize the IR community with current field practices.
• Uncover gaps in academic and industry research in IR.

Erasmo's keynote will focus on his research on algorithmic fairness, and ongoing projects at the JRC and how they relate to EU policy priorities. The exact timings of the keynote will be announced closer to the event.
